National Library Week

We are getting some fun and games planned for National Library Week.  We cannot wait for the elementary students to join us and learn more about our library!

Welcome, This is Your Library

If you have stopped by the library recently, you may have noticed a new addition to our entry way.  We recently hung our hand-painted welcome sign to greet all of our patrons as they enter the library.  We just love how it turned out!  The colors fit in beautifully with our new decor and its message is something we feel in our hearts.

New Audio Books on the Shelves

Each week, we will be releasing two new-to-our-library books on CD.  Books on CD are a great way to make a long car ride or commute seem to go a little faster, keep your mind busy while you do housework (our assistant director's favorite way to listen to audio books), and are great entertainment.  Be sure to stop by and see what we have!

Would You Review?

We are looking for patrons to offer book reviews for us to share on our blog.  We know there are many avid readers in our community and would love to share their thoughts on the books on our shelves.  We have a variety of new releases each week, or you're welcome to grab any book off our shelves.  If you're interested in sharing your reviews with us, stop by the library and let us know.  We'd love to hear your thoughts!

Looking for a Good Movie?

It's Friday.  What better time to have a movie night?  We have a wide variety of DVDs to suit your needs.  Our collection of over 1,500 titles includes children and family friendly movies, to sci-fi, to drama, action, horror, comedy, and many TV series.  Each week we release new titles to add to our collection.  Be sure to stop by and check them out!  Standard DVDs are a 7 day check out.

Bag Sale in our Book Nook!

Our Book Nook is overflowing with great books at the moment, so we've decided to have a Bag Sale.  Our books are regularly $0.50 each, but for a limited time you can fill a bag for only $2.00!  Yes, you heard us, only $2.00 for a bag full of books.  Stop by soon and fill an bag with great reads!

A Peek at What We've Been Up To...

As you may have gathered from our blog and Facebook, we are really excited about our fresh, new Summer Reading Program.  This past week, we've been working on designing our Activity Log, in which we'll have participants log their reading minutes and work on some fun activities.  Here's a sneak peek at the design

Dr. Seuss Week Prizes

The winners of our Dr. Seuss Week drawing have been selected and notified.  If you got a message from Carol, be sure to stop in the library and pick up your prize!

New Hours Starting This Saturday

Our Saturday hours have changed!  We will now be open from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturdays.  Our Monday through Friday hours will remain the same.

Donations for Our Summer Reading Program

We are super excited for our Summer Reading Program this year and have been spending much of our time these past few weeks planning our activities.  For a few of our crafts and games, we would love some help from you.

We are looking for donations of: yogurt lids (from the individual sized yogurts) and 12 can boxes (we will be covering the outside of them, so they don't have to look beautiful, just need to be structurally sound).

You can bring your donations to the library anytime.  Thank you all so much for your help!

Another Splash of Color!

Woo-hoo!  More changes are happening and our library is looking bright and colorful.  Such a cheerful change.  We are loving the soft gray tone in the entryway and the west walls of our work area.

Dr. Seuss Week

Thank you to everyone who came in and made Dr. Seuss week a great success!

Things 1 and 2 were very busy hiding themselves among the shelves, but our patrons could not be tricked by this mischievous duo.  All the kiddos who participated did a great job!

Cleaning House

Every once in a while, it's good to go through our shelves.  Recently, we've sorted through our audio books and removed older titles that have not been checked out for a number of years to make room from newer titles.  For the next few weeks, we'll be releasing two new titles to our shelves, so be sure to check out the latest each week.

Also, the titles we've taken off our shelves are now available in our Book Nook, so be sure to check them out!
