Already Brainstorming for SRP 2017

Sure, it's fall and we just finished this year's summer reading program just two months ago, but we are already planning an brainstorming for next year's program.  This past summer's SRP was amazing and we are so pleased with the changes we've made to freshen things up.  We are planning some additional changes based on the feedback we received following the conclusion of this year's SRP.  We cannot wait for next year's program!

Tech Tuesday: National Cyber Security Awareness Month

Did you know that October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM)?  This national campaign is jointly sponsored by The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) among others.  Cyber Security Awareness focuses on education.  It educates the public, businesses, government, and schools on how to secure their computers and our national infrastructure.

Visit: www.dhs.gov/national-cyber-security-awareness-month for tips and resources to help protect your own piece of cyber space.

"We live in a world that is more connected than ever before. The Internet touches almost all aspects of everyone’s daily life, whether we realize it or not. National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) is designed to engage and educate public and private sector partners through events and initiatives to raise awareness about cybersecurity, provide them with tools and resources needed to stay safe online, and increase the resiliency of the Nation in the event of a cyber incident." - DHS Cyber Security Awareness Month

Librarians vs. 5th Graders

It's on!  Starting today and lasting through the whole month of October, we librarians have challenged the 5th graders to see who can read more.  While we may be greatly outnumbered, our mere four librarians against whole classes of 5th graders, we are absolutely up to the challenge!
