Flashback Friday

We're going to do a little Flashback Friday today.  As we continue our 100 Year Celebration festivities, we thought it would also be great to share a little history of our library.

Story Time is Here!

We are so excited for our first Story Time this morning!  We have a fun book picked out and some songs ready.  Join us at 11:00!

Dr. Seuss Week Is Coming!

We are excited to celebrate Dr. Seuss!  Through the week of February 29 - March 4, we will be posting Dr. Seuss trivia questions on our Facebook page, so be sure to follow us!  Each day, write down your answers and bring them into the library to be entered in to our prize drawing.  Earn bonus entries by finding the tricksters Things One and Thing Two hiding in our library.  The busy duo moves each day, so make sure to stop by and see if you can spot them hiding in our shelves!

Summer Reading Program 2016

We are excited to be lining up great programming for our Summer Reading Program theme this year: Ready, Set, READ!  We have been talking with wonderful presenters in our community who are willing to help us create some energetic events to get the kids moving.  We have six weeks of adventure lined up.  Now, we can't wait for summer!

Story Time!

We are happy to announce the start of our new Story Time.  Encourage your children's love of reading and bring them into the library Wednesday mornings at 11:00 for a story and music.  They will love listening, dancing, and participating!

Join Our Book Club!

Everyone is welcome to join us for our monthly Book Club!  We meet every third Tuesday of the month at 2:00.  We have no required readings.  Each month, our club members share about a book they just finished or one they're currently reading.  It is a fun social environment filled with book lovers.

Looking for a suggestion for a book to read?  Come and our members will share some of their favorite titles to get you started with a great book!

Read 100 Books

Okay, it may sound crazy, but we are challenging our patrons to read 100 books this year in celebration of our 100th anniversary.  We've already had many patrons of all ages take on this fun challenge and hope many more will join them.  We have pocket sized notebooks to help you keep track of the books you've read.  So stop by the library to pick up your notebook and pick up some great books while you're here!

Craft, Knit, Crochet!

Whether you are new to the world of crafting, knitting, or crochet or an expert, join us on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 1:00.  You can socialize as you create!  If you're just starting out, we have experienced members who can help guide you as you create. 

Mom's Coffee Break

Each Friday at 1:00 we host a Mom's Coffee Break here at Wellman-Scofield Public Library.  It is a great place to come and relax while the little ones play and enjoy the library.  We have a wonderful group of moms who love this social hour (or hours as is often the case).  Please join us and share in the fun!  All are welcome!

Dreaming of Summer

With the chill in the air and the snow on the ground, summer seems to be ages away.  Here at Wellman-Scofield Public Library, we are already getting excited for summer to arrive!  We have been busy beginning plans for our Summer Reading Program.  We are really stepping up our game and planning six weeks of fun-filled programming.
